If the amount of foxtail millet you give your bird is not well rationed, they tend to eat too much of it and put on excess weight. Millet belongs to the sweet grass family and is an annual crop.
Foxtail millet nutritional information: 62% carbohydrates, 11.3% protein, 10% water, 7% raw fiber, 4.3% fat, 3% ash. Our tip: First feed your bird with their normal grain feed, as well as fresh food such as fruit and vegetables. Once or twice a week, and only when they are relatively full, give them this Foxtail Millet. This usually prevents your pet bird from eating too much and gaining weight.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
For maximum freshness, re-seal the package tightly and refrigerate, or place it in a moisture-proof container and freeze after each use. If unable to refrigerate or freeze, store in a cool, dry location. This will protect against insect infestation that can naturally occur with any whole grain seed product.
